Hot on Fire!

This sneaky little number was inspired by a cocktail of the same name that I had in a bar in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  It’s rather like being mugged.

The grenadine and run draws you in with a sweet and fruity opening, before the chilli and vodka kicks you in the nuts and steals your wallet. And at the end, the tonic water kisses it all better and provides a soothing, refreshing finish.

The Marvellous Method

Roughly chop the chilli, and place it in your boston glass. Add the coriander, vodka and coconut rum, and muddle firmly.

Add the sugar syrup, and shake over ice. Strain into a tall glass over more ice. Top up with a little tonic water and finish with a dash of grenadine.
